National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology ( Society ) was set up in the year 1982 by the Government of India as an autonomous body for coordinated growth and development of hospitality education in the country. The JEE ( Joint Entrance Examination ) is conducted by the NCHMCT ( National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology ) for admission to its course “B.Sc in Hospitality & Hotel Administration” that is offered jointly with IGNOU. It is a 3 year programme that equips students with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge supervisory responsibilities in the hospitality sector. Admission to first year of this programme is strictly based on the all India rank earned by the candidate in JEE. There were five sections in all - English Language, Reasoning and Logical Deduction, Numerical Ability & Scientific Aptitude, General Knowledge and Current Affairs and Aptitude for Service Sector. The pattern of the test has not undergone major change. The paper had 4 sets and the sequence of questions differed from set to set.

Maharashtra Hotel Management Common Entrance Test ( MAH HMCET ) Entrance Examination is State level competitive hotel management entrance examination Maharashtra Hotel Management Common Entrance Test or MAH HM CET 2014 is conducted to offer admissions to qualifying candidates for four years duration of full time undergraduate Hotel Management & Catering Technology course. The offered course is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education ( AICTE ) and will be offered by government institutes, government aided or unaided, and University Departments of institutes located in Maharashtra State. Under Graduate Aptitude Test (UGAT) is a standardized test being administered by AIMA annually to screen the candidates for various under graduate programs such as Integrated MBA (IMBA), BBA, BCA, BHM, B.Com, etc. UGAT bulletin is brought out along with the UGAT form and profiles the institutes/colleges/universities accepting UGAT score for information of the candidates. It gives wide visibility of the institutes among potential candidates. The candidates are given the option to indicate any five of the participating institutes/colleges/universities. The data and score of the candidates are provided to the institutes/colleges/universities indicated by the candidates. In addition, candidates are provided individual score card, which can be produced to any institute. Institutes / colleges / universities can decide on the cut-off score for admission or for further screening based on the number of seats available.

International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) conducts an Electronic Common Hotel Admission Test (eCHAT) to offer admission to candidates in hotel management programmes on offer by the institute. This entrance test is also known by the name of – Combined Hospitality Aptitude Test. IIHM entrance exam is a national level test. After clearing IIHM eCHAT, candidates are further shortlisted for admissions on the basis of their performance in the group discussion and personal interview round. IIHM eCHAT is conducted online and the aptitude report of the aspirants is emailed to them within 24 hours. It may be noted that eCHAT is organised by Edexel in association with IIHM.

Indian Hotel Academy (IHA) conducts the IHA 2018 to select students for Hotel Management programs. IHA had been established in the year 2008 and is operated by experienced hospitality professionals. IHA has some UGC approved degree courses and diploma programs in Hotel Management. To get admission into the IHA, one has to take the IHA entrance exam. Doing so will enable them to get admission into this recognized institute and has been granted recognition from many universities including KSOU, MGU, SMU, etc. along with being a member of the Gautam Budh Educational Society fostering academic excellence and creativity. To get admission into the IHA all students have to get through a written entrance test based on general competency questions. The IHA 2018 comprises of various subjects divided into sections. Once a desired score is attained by the candidate, it is followed with personal interviews conducted by the expert panel of Indian Hotel Academy.       

Panjab University Tourism & Hospitality Aptitude Test ( PUTHAT ) Entrance Examination - 2018 Panjab University Chandigarh conducts Panjab University Tourism & Hospitality Aptitude Test (PUTHAT) for admission to Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) and Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM) at University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management (UIHTM).
